Child Obesity Resources
It is important to understand the entire scope of childhood obesity from the causes to the effects it has on our children and our school communities. Many have rushed to judgment with the role fundraising has played in contributing to the childhood obesity issues we are confronting today.
Due to budget shortfalls on the local, state and national levels, there is a continuing need for fundraising on our schools. Childhood obesity is a complicated national issue that extends far beyond fundraising. Examining food consumption by students at schools makes sense. Eliminating choices in school fundraising will not effectively address the child obesity problem until we better understand the scope of this issue.
